Program on Prototyping and market validation

Program Objective

To help startups develop a prototype and validate it in the applicable market.

Eligibility

The program is open to Indian nationals who have a technology-based, innovative idea that has been validated and is ready with a Proof of Concept (POC). Selection involves a multi-stage process including online application, screening, pitch to a selection panel, and final discussion.

Duration

3–6 Months

Program Structure

During these three to six months, startups undergo a structured training program on product development. Every month, a series of hands-on workshops are held to help startups put in place the fundamentals of building a business. These workshops are conducted by industry mentors and experts with years of experience in dealing with startups and related issues.

These workshops cover aspects ranging from business strategy to legal and financial issues, rapid prototyping, and market linkage. One-on-one mentoring sessions with mentors are facilitated for the startups.

The innovator will have access to facilities for rapid prototyping and the existing network to validate the products.

Expected Outcome

The program will help innovators become ready with a tangible product.

2.5 Program on Product Development

Program Objective

To help startups develop the product as per the applicable market.

Eligibility

Startups meeting the eligibility criteria can apply through an application form. Shortlisted startups are invited to pitch to a selection committee.

Duration

3–6 Months

Program Structure

Startups in this program are expected to move towards commercialization. There is no structured engagement plan for startups in this program; however, they get access to ongoing workshops from earlier startup programs.

The centre is expected to leverage its existing network for market development.

Expected Outcome

The startups gain traction and become ready for further funding to be matched.
